Breeding Common

Because I have about 13 breeding cages up space is limited. I breed in principle no more than 11 couples simultaneously. The breeding season begins in late September for me, then I determine what I'm breeding flocks. I breed in the period September to March primarily with the shades of color Normal Penguin, Penguin Silver (split birds) and Isabel Fawn. The ratio 3 Penguin Normal couples, 5 couples to split Penguin Silver and 1 torque Isabel Fawn.

Starting in October (when there are new rings) are the first eggs in the nest in mid-October and the first young birds. A couple I basically put in 2 laps, then I redeem them with any spare couples have in my possession which I have.

The temperature in the grow room during the winter minimum is 10 degrees and 18 degrees up. This line I by an electric heater with thermostat. The humidity I try to keep about 75%. During the breeding birds get the bath water regularly (every 2 days).

Nutrition: In preparation for the breeding birds to give me the daily concentrate, as the first eggs are laid along until I stop the first young birds. Then get it daily with fresh concentrate supplemented Growth powder . The cage is enough grit and stomach silica present as co sepia. Drinking water is provided daily.

The first eggs: I pick the eggs up to the 6th egg, then I put everything back and start the breeding process.

Rings of the young  birds: The young birds will be between 7 and 10 days old ringed with ring size 2.7 or 2.9. If the boy 35 days old I get them away from parents and put them in a large flight cage, here beside me provide seed and millet spray concentrate even more than one weeks or until they are 8.

If the birds have had the first mound they go into the flight.

Launch of the culture.

After selecting a paper I'm in the last weeks of September started with the selection of breeding birds for which I am already started.

The following color breeding success, I began:

Four couples Normal Penguin x Normal Penguin . The birds I selected color drawing, the combination of intensive and not intensive, and the size of the bird. In the color picture I look at that picture right there is the tail and gray on the head extends well into the beak.

I put two large flocks of size of the flock is the 1st man entirety of color drawing but I compensated by a very close link to pop. Both are large birds, both in size and weight. The couples in the third week and put 3 of the four sitting on eggs.

1 couple  Silver Penguin x Normal Penguin (Penguin split for Silver). This couple I have already put the 1st round and all eggs were infertile. Now they sit on the 2nd clutch. If this weather is infertile for a while they go back into the flight.

1 couple Silver x Normal Penguin( split to Silver Penguin). This couple I have already put and is engaged in the 3rd round young birds, I have the 1st week of October to rings, there are 6 young birds in the nest of which 1 is a Silver, whether this is a Silver Penguin I wait until the time of flying out, a Silver Penguin has a white chest.

1 couple Silver  (split for Silver Penguin) x Silver Penguin. Here I have two Silver birds are related. Not advisable if you think because the guy will be too light. But Silver Penguin doll is very dark in color on the back and gray on the wings against. Hence this combination. This couple is now on 6 eggs.

1 couple Silver (split for Silver Penguin)  x Normal Penguin (split for Silver Penguin), this interface also has 6 eggs.

After the exhibitions I have put some couples, but first see what the outcome of the above.

To be continued!
