One year experience in the solid plastic breeding cages of the firm v. Heesakkers!

In the summer of 2008 I, along with Marius and Erik, solid plastic breeding cages were estimates of the firm J.Heesakkers (JH-fronts and cages).

Now one years later it is time for a brief review of my experience with this breeding cages.

The purchase of this type of cage culture is a precious thing, I've purchased 5 berths with a distribution of 3x3 (40-40-40) and 2x2 (60-40-40) it took me over 800 Euros. But also other vendors that amount I would have been lost. DIY is cheaper but if you use good materials, you are not that much cheaper, apart from the time you lost to build the number of cages.

I then chose the cages of Heesakkers for the following reasons:

-           Robust

-          Good clean

-          No seams where pests can hide

-          Easy to use

-          The look, the white cages with trays provide a beautiful green and the whole Looks count

Do these reasons are made where?

1. Thoroughness: I have to date almost no problems with these cages had all my first breakdown caused by a sagging bottom cage. This was because I used 60-40-40 cage and lower cage and above the three cages 40-40-40 a 60-40-40 cage with them again. Result, what was the bottom bunk bend. I've now changed the format, the two lower berths are those of 60-40-40 to 40-40-40 above the three cages. Between these two lower berths and the top three, I have a frame to prevent sagging. This works well and I have no problems.

2. Good clean: Here comes the solid plastic into its own, the cages are very easy with soapy water or a damp cloth to clean, loose dirt easily. Also easy way to move the fronts so you can quickly clean an entire car.

3. No seams where pests can hide: To date I still can not find lice in the cages, I sometimes place a cardboard tube with a perch below and check then a few days to lock. Again: so far nothing!

4. Easy to use: The removable fronts are so easy to clean the cages, but the walls are movable between an outcome. Because not all cages can be used simultaneously in the boy's parents leave me in a larger cage until they are independent. Then back in the wall between the old and beginning to breed again. The boy still remain even in the breeding cage before they move to a flight cage. The layout of the cages is also nice, sticks are easy to remove. For trays at the front, nest box door which slid into or can be hung. The sand trays are easy to clean and cover the birds can not escape from the cage.

5. The look: The cages are for me still a feast for the eye, the front of the green sand tray get a playful and finished appearance of the cages. The white plastic is hardly subject to discoloration.

All in all, I do not regret my choice. The cages like fine. Meanwhile, at least 6 members in our association who have opted for the cages of Heesakkers.
