The name of this site is based on the color started "Witborst" (Normal-penguin) in zebra finches.

Time for me to suggest here, my name is Hans de Boer, I live in the town of Ede in Netherlands, and I have about 40 years breeding birds. Since 1993 I'm a member of the Association Edelzanger Bennekom. This association is affiliated to the General Dutch Union of Bird owners (ANBvv), I am also a member of the Dutch Zebra fiches Club since 2009 (NZC).
My experience is very diverse culture, years I have bred budgies, mainly in the nineties of the last century yielded numerous awards at exhibitions. After a pause of about 3 years I started again in 2006 with considerably less space than 10 years ago I decided to breed with zebra finches. No new bird for me because at the beginning of my hobby (40 years ago) and my first house (1983) I started zebra finches.
Now (2009), I have focused on the Silver Penguin, I also grow well with the color layers Normal-Penguin, Fawn-penguin, Isabel fawn as Barmsijzen and European Culture and European Gold Finches.
Through this site I want to show you as much pleasure from the small breeder breeding birds can have. And I hope the many hobby bird owners that our country still has to persuade it to join a club and come along to do exhibitions. So the future of associations and umbrella organizations is guaranteed.
